I’ve followed the playful pedagogical practices of digital historians since taking part in Bill Turkel’s Digital History course in 2011. Rob MacDougall and his team tested Tecumseh Lies Here, an augmented reality history game, with the public history students in this course, and it was mesmerizing to watch how engaged they became. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting the ever-inventive classroom of Shawn Graham at Carleton, and am now co-editing the 2nd edition of The Historian’s Macroscope with Shawn, Ian Milligan, and Scott Weingart. Also upcoming is a survey of digital history pedagogy in Canada. Watch this space!
